"I was born in the sacred land of Aotearoa and grew up in the valleys of the lower North Island. I was blessed to be surrounded by not only an amazing ocean and landscape but also the treasures of culture, song, dance, music, art, sculpture, photography, theatre and outdoor activities. I travelled to the east coast of Australia after completing high school and have lived here ever since. My passion for art, photography, music, culture, surfing and nature, particularly the coastal environment is still strong and has been an avenue for expression, appreciation and learning. At present I am studying Coastal Environmental Science and I am learning a lot about the interconnected way of life, involving the ocean, the earth, the universe and all its inhabitants and systems. I am also working in dune regeneration and revegetation on the Gold Coast, allowing me to connect with nature in areas where human settlement is heavy and threatens the native beach ecosystem.
I hope that through sharing with you the beauty of nature through my photos and paintings, whether it be of plants, flowers, waves, animals or insects; you can enjoy and feel the beauty of the subject matter and grow a greater love and appreciation for all life on this universe, as I do. May the words on these pages also grace your heart, mind and consciousness to an awareness of truth to your self and the earth. Thank you for visiting my website".
With gratitude, Caroline
